DIYstinctly Made

Hello! We’re the Boehringers (pronounced Beringer…like the wine), and we are the “crew” behind DIYstinctly Made. We’re just a couple of budget-minded crazies with the start of a tool collection and the determination to do it ourselves. We love to build things, refinish things, and pretty much put our own touch on anything we can get our hands on ESPECIALLY if it saves us a buck or two.

My heart explodes for these people of mine (when my head is not exploding 🤪) #parenting. We hope you all had a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
My favorite view 😍 - Not Pictured: dishes in the sink and counter crap pushed to the side #letsbereal #farmhousechristmas #farmhousechristmasdecor #diy #diydecor
I don’t know about y’all, but Christmas movies are on repeat in our house! The kids (and us) are loving the change of decor... which has been around for a couple of weeks now (we’re those people)! I changed it up this year and made a few new decor items - The fabric tie banner draped on our tree was made from a few old linen curtains and the triangle banners were a quick and easy addition made with left over vintage Christmas fabric my mom had given me years ago (actually, she gave me the curtains, too). I’m glad I held onto those scraps for all these years! Fun fact, the wooden box was the first thing Kurt ever built for me - it was originally intended to hold all my wedding trinkets... but what fun is that? It’s a little wobbly, but I love it 😍 #farmhousechristmas #farmhousechristmasdecor #diyhomedecor #diycrafts #diychristmasdecor #diystinctlymade
The “new” kitchen is Andi-approved! This farmhouse sink is perfect for bathing babies and no, this one isn’t damaged. Wayfair delivered a new sink and R&R Tops came out and finished the counter/sink installation this past week. I attempted a white wash on the brick but ultimately decided to paint it all... and... I’m in love 😍 It really lightens up the space and ties in some of the rustic charm of this home. Though it is a small touch, my favorite part of the backsplash is the area under the window sill. The vertical bricks add just the right amount of character. The biggest victory of the day was installing the pot filler faucet and finding NO LEAKS! 🙌🏼🙌🏼 (I’m sure it’ll start leaking JUST because I posted that.) I’m so proud of us for knocking this out (it’s been a long time coming). I’ve already got my eyes set on the next step (hello new vent hood and possibly ceiling?) but Kurt is over it and says he’s leaving for the next 3 months 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 That’s alright... right now I’m loving the view #diy #kitchenremodel #farmhouse #farmhousekitchen #backsplash #brick #fixerupper
A Saturday at home and an opportunity to get one step closer to a completed kitchen. Today, I grouted the “easy” way using premade grout. It was hella expensive, but I didn’t want to waste all day going through trial and error of mixing the grout properly. Since everything will be painted in the end, I didn’t have to be too neat (which was nice). I got into the groove of pipe, wipe, and rinse... only to be disrupted by a return trip to Lowe’s (it’s not a DIY project without multiple trips to the store, right?) Now it’s time to wind down to some college football and get ready to wake up and go back at it! #mykindofweekend #kurtsoverit #hewantedtogohunting #openingdayofdoveseason #kitchenremodel #farmhouse #farmhousekitchen #renovation #diy #doityourself #grouting #brick #backsplash
After many breaks for movie changes, meal preparations, the overall needs of our children (how dare they), and two solid buckets of mortar 😂 the brick backsplash is finally laid! I must say, as first timers my expectations were low but I’m very pleased with how it looks thus far! If any grout gurus are reading this, we will gladly accept any advice for grouting. #homerenovation #kitchenremodel #diy #doityourself #farmhouse #farmhousekitchen #brickbacksplash
