Hello! We’re the Boehringers (pronounced Beringer…like the wine), and we are the “crew” behind DIYstinctly Made. We’re just a couple of budget-minded crazies with the start of a tool collection and the determination to do it ourselves. We love to build things, refinish things, and pretty much put our own touch on anything we can get our hands on ESPECIALLY if it saves us a buck or two.

Lesson learned: inspect your sink BEFORE installation day 🤦🏼‍♀️ I found this beautiful sink on Wayfair.com. With a shallow self trimming apron, this sink was THE fit for our kitchen. Any other farmhouse sink would have required new cabinet doors to be made. Fast forward to 10am of installation day and I get a call from Kurt “The sink is cracked. We can’t install the countertops without a sink and they’ve already removed/damaged our existing sink and counters” Y’ALL. Why in the HELL did we not inspect the sink?! I’m embarrassed to say I almost cried like a baby BUT, thankfully I remembered what the wise Kourtney Kardashian once said... “Kim, people are dying!” Okay... you’re right Kourt. Get it together. The good news is, after Kurt and I achieved full on panic mode, calling every distributor in town without finding a replacement, Wayfair.com came to our rescue. A new sink is on its way and we were able to use the damaged one in place for now. Even though our countertop install wasn’t able to be completed today, we’re one step closer and I’m loving the view 😍 Thank you to R&R tops for having extreme patience and grace, and telling us this happens all the time. #kitchenrenovation #renovationonabudget #farmhousekitchen #kitchenremodel #amaturehour #crisisadverted #thankskourt

Making way for our new farmhouse sink! 😍🙌🏼 We lined the cut line with tape to help prevent splintering and it worked beautifully!
